Water Shortage Social Story

Sometimes where I live will have a water shortage.

A water shortage or drought happens after a long time without rain or snow.

I can see if my county is in a drought through the Department of Environmental Protection website.

To be ready if this happens, I can save bottles of water.

I will sign up for alerts from my local water provider.

If this does happen, there are things I can do to help.

I can turn off the water when I brush my teeth.

Play and pause buttons and skip and reverse buttons from a music app. There is also a shower head with running water and a five-minute timer.

I can pick a 5-minute song and use it as a timer when I take a shower.

Bottles of hand sanitizer and dry shampoo.

I can use things that don’t use water, like hand sanitizer and dry shampoo.
