If I am not feeling well or in pain, my doctor might want to take X-rays of my body.
The X-ray machine is a big camera. It will take pictures of the inside of my body.
I may have to change into a gown or pajamas.
I might also have to wear a vest to protect my body. The vest might feel heavy, but it will not hurt.
I may need to lie down, sit, or standup to take multiple pictures.
The X-ray machine might make noises and use lights to take the pictures.
This won’t take long, but if I need a break, I can let the doctor know.
When we are done, the doctor will leave the room, and I can change back into my clothes.
A doctor will come talk to me about the results afterwards. They might also call me in a few days.
