When I arrive at the office, I will check in at the desk.
I may have to sit and wait until my name is called.
Someone will take me to a quiet room. I can bring my support person with me.
I will sit or lie down in a comfortable chair.
I can hold onto my favorite toy or blanket.
Someone will place small stickers on my head that do not hurt. They might be cold.
They will connect those stickers to wires.
The wires connect to a computer that will record my brain’s activity. This is called an EEG.
I may be asked to rest quietly, close my eyes, and take deep breaths.
It is important to stay as calm and still as possible.
The EEG can take 30 minutes to an hour or more to be done.
After that, the stickers will be gently removed, and I will be all done!
