Many things have changed as a result of COVID-19, and will continue to change in the coming weeks and months. As communities prepare to open up, there will be new rules and guidelines in place to keep people safe and healthy. For individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism, this process may be even more complicated.
The guides on the following pages have been designed to help families, caregivers, and self-advocates plan and prepare for the changes they may face when going back into their communities. These guides are meant to get people thinking about different areas that may be impacted, and spark discussion among individuals and their families. The guides are simply a starting point to gathering information for the planning process.
Resources suggestions are provided for each area covered to help provide information where needed.
